I had a similar problem when using a Netgear DGN1000 Router. The only way the Sky box connection would work is if the multiplexing method was changed to LLC. I now use the Plusnet supplied Technicolor router (TG582n) and when I first plugged in the Sky box to it, it would not make the connection (connection to router ok, on demand connection fail).

To be fair most times by reconnecting to internet it works but tonight after 3 attempts I give up and in addition I got the sky Q box working a couple of times but it then kept failing and my 2 mini boxes were just not connecting. Sky Go was working and all other items connected to internet (phones IPads etc) had no problems. Mar 17, 2014 · If your router has a WPS button: Press and hold the WPS button on your broadband router for two seconds. Within one minute press the WPS button on the front panel of your Sky+HD box. The wireless light on the front of your Sky+HD box will flash amber while the box attempts to establish an internet connection. Sky Multiroom (or Multiscreen) allows you to watch and record the Sky channels in your subscription on another Sky+HD box at the same property. You do not need a phone line or broadband connection for it to work but if you do connect it to either then Sky can ping the box to check that it is at the same location as your main box (same phone Main Sky Box happily on wifi, but mini Q box not a happy bunny - makes the connection but can't maintain it. It's in the k-itchen and I don't have the option of moving it about, so i think it's back to the powerline plugs. (This forum does not allow the use of the word for the room where you prepare food!!!! aaargh!)
