Between DD-WRT and Openwrt I had better signal/speed with Openwrt. I could get 90% on the 5GHz for a client forty feet away from the router with Openwrt but with DD-Wrt the signal was only 40%. There are full featured builds of Openwrt for the 3700 available. Look in the Community Releases / Announcements section over at the Openwrt forums.
